The track has been here at Forest Town, Mansfield for quite sometime as you can see from the photograph above which was taken at sportsday in 1909.

The club based here is now known as the Forest Town Aces and and aims to support any riders who want to come and have a go at track racing.

Monday 19th July

It was with great sadness that we recently learned of the death of Paul Johnson who was a regular rider at Forest Town. He was involved in a road traffic accident whilst riding his bike and died from his injuries.

Paul was one of the Retford and District Wheelers riders who had become a regular face at Forest Town both at racing League evenings and at the coaching sessions. He was a good friend to all the riders at Forest Town both young and old and was a good sportsman in every sense, always enjoying the riding and the company reguardless of winning or loosing.

Tonights race meeting was preceded with the sound of the final lap bell ringing as all of the Forest Town riders rode a last lap in memory of Paul. He will be greatly missed by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Pauls funeral is to be held on Friday 23rd July, at 11:00
